Jorginho’s £12 million transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal in January 2023 may have been influenced by more than just football, with superstition seemingly playing a part.
The Sun reports that the midfielder’s performance declined after he lost two beaded bracelets, believed to be his lucky charms. These bracelets, reportedly blessed in a church, were left behind during a meeting with beautician Vanessa Sandora. When Jorginho later requested their return, Sandora was unable to locate them, which reportedly affected his confidence and form at Chelsea.
The story gained renewed attention when Jorginho’s fiancée, Catherine Harding, confronted Sandora at her London home, seeking clarity about her past interactions with the footballer. The encounter led to an open conversation between the two women.
Sandora revealed to The Sun that Jorginho had left the bracelets during one of their meetings, and while she knew he wanted them back, she was unable to find them. She explained that friends informed her Jorginho attributed his dip in form to the absence of the bracelets. She added that while they continued messaging after their third meeting, they never met again, and she deleted him from social media in December 2022.
