Alisson missed Liverpool’s recent Champions League loss to Galatasaray due to discomfort picked up in training, forcing Giorgi Mamardashvili to step in for only his second appearance since November.

With Tottenham set to visit Anfield this weekend, fans are left wondering whether Alisson will be fit in time to start. However, recent assessments indicate Liverpool might not rush him back.

According to FourFourTwo, manager Arne Slot could give Alisson extra time to recover, especially given the quick turnaround between games and Mamardashvili’s steady performance in Europe:

“We think Alisson may be given a little longer, given the tight turnaround, with Mamardashvili one of the only goalkeepers not to have pulled a European blunder this week.”
