Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool fans to “keep an eye on” Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as a potential future replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Jamie Carragher has identified a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, naming Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as a player to watch.

After Liverpool’s 3-1 comeback win over Leicester City, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points, Carragher discussed the possibility of replacing Salah, whose contract is set to expire soon.

Carragher suggested that Liverpool’s approach wouldn’t involve splashing £120 million on a superstar, but rather focusing on emerging talents in the 23-24 age range with the potential to improve. He highlighted Semenyo, given his strong connection with Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes from their time at Bournemouth.

Carragher also expressed concerns about other potential targets like Bryan Mbuemo, who he feels may not sustain his over-performing numbers in the long run.
