Arsenal are in ongoing talks with Brazilian club Cruzeiro regarding the potential transfer of winger Marquinhos, as reported by the Mirror.
Although there has been speculation that a deal has already been reached, sources indicate that the Gunners are still negotiating the terms of an initial loan agreement, which would include an obligation to purchase the 21-year-old Brazilian forward.
Marquinhos joined Arsenal in the summer of 2022, with the club’s former sporting director Edu securing the highly-rated winger from Sao Paulo for £3 million, beating Wolves to his signature.
However, despite showing early promise, including a goal and an assist on his debut in a 2-1 Europa League win over FC Zurich, Marquinhos has struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team, making only six appearances.
After spending part of this season on loan at Fluminense, it now seems likely that Marquinhos will make a permanent return to Brazil, with Arsenal finalizing his departure.
Additionally, Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Benjamin Sesko, Nico Williams, and Matheus Cunha, according to The Athletic.
