After an action-packed weekend in the league, City travelled to London to face one of their traditional problem opponents in Spurs in Sunday’s final fixture. Going into the match, pressure was mounting on Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, with the club having managed just one league win since late December — a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

After City’s opener, Neville suggested that the only way Guardiola’s side would fail to win comfortably was if they lost focus and failed to score again. Despite the criticism, Tottenham showed renewed energy after the interval. Dominic Solanke forced an own goal from City defender Marc Guehi, giving the hosts a lifeline and reigniting hopes of a comeback.
Still, if Spurs fail to salvage even a point from the encounter, doubts over Thomas Frank’s long-term future are likely to intensify — despite encouraging signs in their Champions League campaign.
