Liverpool have been performing exceptionally well this season, securing their position at the top of the Premier League. Under Arne Slot’s guidance, the club has become competitive across all competitions.
The Dutch manager has revitalized players who were previously struggling at Anfield, with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai all excelling this season. Along with Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, many key players have returned to top form.
However, one player has yet to make a significant impact, raising doubts about his long-term future at the club. Federico Chiesa, who joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer, has had a difficult time settling in England.
Reports from Tutto Atalanta suggest Serie A leaders Atalanta are interested in signing Chiesa on loan in January, with an option to buy. Chiesa’s late arrival and lack of a proper preseason have been compounded by fitness issues, limiting him to just 18 minutes of Premier League action this season.
Is Federico Chiesa’s time at Liverpool already over?
It would be premature for the club to let Chiesa leave so soon after his summer signing. He deserves a fair chance to prove himself with more consistent opportunities in the lineup. While his services may not be immediately required, Liverpool knows better than most clubs how quickly things can change during an injury crisis.
Chiesa’s time will come, but he needs to focus on improving his fitness and demonstrate in training that he’s ready to compete for a starting spot.
In January, Liverpool will also prioritize sorting out the contracts of key players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil Van Dijk.
