After Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Leicester, Mohamed Salah was asked about the team’s prospects of securing the league title this season.
“This year feels different. I want to win the Premier League, we are determined to win it.
“Let’s do it! But keep in mind, the key is to continue working hard and remain humble.”
While this could have seemed like a typical post-match remark, Salah’s final comment caught attention. He echoed a quote from Erling Haaland, which he had said to Mikel Arteta after Man City’s equalizer against Arsenal.
Fans believe Salah’s words weren’t accidental, speculating that he intentionally aimed the remark at Haaland.
“I think he’s sending a message to Haaland there.”
“He got Haaland good.”
“Did you hear Salah? Talking about staying humble… Not directed at another coach.”
