“Bags packed” – Paratici may be heading for an unexpected Tottenham exit

Tottenham Hotspur are set to go their separate ways with Fabio Paratici once more, with the Italian reportedly poised to take up a new position at Fiorentina in February. During his advisory spell at Spurs, Paratici has been instrumental in deepening the club’s ties with Serie A.

Since arriving in north London in 2021, Tottenham have recruited heavily from Italy, bringing in the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero, Ivan Perisic, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and Radu Dragusin.
Dragusin has already been tipped for a swift return to Serie A despite only recently joining Spurs.

His representatives had explored interest from clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, but a lack of regular minutes and stiff competition have cooled those prospects. AS Roma have been chasing the Romanian defender this month, and while talks have dragged on, an exit remains firmly on the table.

With Dragusin’s future uncertain, Tottenham are assessing alternative defensive options. Calciomercato claims Alessandro Buongiorno has emerged as a potential target.

The 26-year-old moved to Napoli from Torino in July 2024 in a deal worth €35m plus €5m in add-ons, but he has since fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte. Calciomercato reports that Buongiorno’s “bags are packed,” hinting at an imminent move.

This situation aligns with Paratici’s recruitment strategy and could mark his final influence on Tottenham’s transfer activity before his departure.
