Better than Bergvall: Tottenham are keen on securing the signature of a £42m-rated England star.

Liverpool are expected to be reluctant to sell their academy graduate, but Spurs could offer him a more prominent role. While no official asking price has been confirmed, Jones is valued at around £42 million by Football Transfers’ expected transfer model.

Jones has earned praise for his ball retention and improved passing range since Arne Slot took charge at Anfield. Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher recently suggested that Jones should now be ahead of Alexis Mac Allister in Liverpool’s midfield hierarchy. Analysts have also highlighted his technical quality, defensive work rate and overall influence, describing him as one of the most underrated players in England.

Statistical comparisons between Jones and Bergvall this season show Jones registering higher involvement in possession, passing accuracy, chances created and recoveries, reflecting his greater influence at Premier League level. While Bergvall continues to develop at just 19 years old and has already made more than 70 appearances for Tottenham since joining, Jones offers experience and consistency at the highest level.

With multiple trophies to his name at Liverpool, Jones would bring proven pedigree alongside technical and tactical balance, qualities that Tottenham currently lack as they attempt to stabilise their campaign.
