After Ben Davies, Tottenham may have seen two more key players sidelined, adding to Thomas Frank’s troubles.

 

Tottenham Hotspur may have lost three key players to injury in their 2-1 home defeat to West Ham United: Ben Davies, Archie Gray, and Xavi Simons.

Ben Davies had to be stretchered off in the first half with a serious injury, raising concerns that this could be his final appearance for Spurs. The loss marked a difficult afternoon for the team, who struggled against 18th-placed West Ham.

The injury situation puts Thomas Frank under even greater pressure, making it harder for him to turn the club’s fortunes around. Both Xavi Simons and Archie Gray also appear to have been sidelined. Simons was seen limping after the match, following a heavy challenge, while Gray had to be substituted at halftime due to a knock, with Yves Bissouma coming on for his season debut after suffering a tough blow in the first half.

Tottenham recently signed Conor Gallagher, who could step in at number ten if Simons is out. However, Tim Sherwood criticized Gallagher’s debut, noting that Spurs’ midfield struggled in the first half.

Simons endured a tough outing, struggling to make an impact and losing possession 21 times, completing only one of five dribbles. While the 22-year-old has underperformed, Frank’s tactics appear to be limiting his effectiveness.

The club will now need to assess the injuries to Davies, Simons, and Gray, who could join Joao Palhinha on the growing list of players sidelined.
