Supercomputer Predicts Grim Finish for Tottenham and Final Premier League Standings
A supercomputer has forecasted the conclusion of the 2024-25 Premier League season and the Champions League race, revealing troubling outcomes for some teams, including Tottenham.
Title Race and European Spots
Liverpool, led by Arne Slot, are predicted to win the title in his debut season, finishing four points ahead of Chelsea. Despite their dominance in recent years, Manchester City is projected to drop to fourth place with 76 points, their lowest tally in years, amid speculation about Pep Guardiola’s future.
Tottenham Hotspur, who finished fifth last season, are forecasted to slump to ninth place. Newcastle United is expected to secure the only guaranteed Europa League spot, finishing fifth, while Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa will closely contest European qualification.
Mid-Table Performances
Brighton & Hove Albion are projected to outperform Manchester United, finishing ahead of the Red Devils and West Ham United. Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton debut is expected to conclude with a 12th-place finish, hindered by injuries. West Ham, despite an exciting transfer window, are anticipated to finish 14th, while Everton will likely secure safety, finishing 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
Relegation Predictions
The supercomputer expects all three promoted teams to return to the Championship. Leicester City, the 2016/17 champions, are predicted to go down with just 26 points. Wolves, under pressure, are forecasted to narrowly escape relegation, finishing 17th, two points above the drop zone.
The predictions suggest significant upheaval in the league, with clubs like Tottenham and Manchester United falling short of expectations while Liverpool and Chelsea thrive.
