Sky Sports Catches Tom Cairney’s Explicit Reaction Following Liverpool Clash

 

 

After the final whistle, Sky cameras caught Reed and his teammate Tom Cairney, who, like many watching at home, could hardly believe what they had just seen. Cairney sprinted over to Reed and exclaimed an X-rated reaction after his Fulham teammate scored a stunning contender for goal of the season against Liverpool.

In the dying moments of Sunday’s Premier League clash at Craven Cottage, Reed cancelled out Cody Gakpo’s 94th-minute strike with an incredible long-range effort.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who hadn’t scored since April 2023, fired from 30 yards out to beat Allison, leveling the game at 2-2 and extending Fulham’s unbeaten run to five matches. Cairney could be heard saying, “What the f— was that?” before walking away.

Fans on social media were quick to react. One wrote: “Sky picking up Tom Cairney saying ‘what the f— was that’ to Reed,” while another added: “Tom Cairney saying ‘what the f— was that’ to Harrison Reed at the end.” A third commented: “Cairney to Reed after FT: ‘What the f— was that?!’ What a goal!!!!” Others echoed the sentiment, calling it “surely one of the goals of the season.”

Fulham had taken an early lead through former Liverpool man Harry Wilson, but despite periods of control, they fell behind to goals from Florian Wirtz and Gakpo. Reed’s stoppage-time strike, however, secured a well-earned point for Marco Silva’s side.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Reed reflected on his late heroics: “I came on and two minutes later they scored, so I did my best to keep the boys going. I knew we’d get another chance. It wasn’t as straightforward as I expected, but it came to me nicely.”

He added: “Kevin passed me the ball, and I had no choice but to hit it. What a feeling. Not sure about the celebration—I was all over the place—but it was a deserved point.”

Silva also praised his team’s performance against the defending Premier League champions: “When we were losing, it felt completely unfair. We scored an amazing first goal and exploited the space between the full-back and centre-back.”

He continued: “Harrison Reed’s goal was a brilliant moment and brought more fairness to the game.”
