Liverpool Eye Clever Swap Deal After Losing Out on Antoine Semenyo

 

 

Liverpool may turn their focus to a potential swap deal after missing out on Antoine Semenyo.

Bournemouth’s 25-year-old star has long been linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium. Reports previously suggested he has a £65 million release clause, attracting interest from Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Recent updates, however, indicate Semenyo prefers a move to Manchester City, which is now expected early in the winter transfer window.

With Semenyo seemingly slipping away, Liverpool are reportedly exploring a swap deal involving Federico Chiesa. Over recent months, Chiesa has struggled to impress at Anfield under Arne Slot. He started his first Premier League game of the season last weekend against Wolverhampton but was substituted after 61 minutes.

As the January window approaches, Chiesa has been linked with a return to Serie A. According to Gazzetta, Juventus are reportedly interested and could offer a loan move to Turin. So far this season, Chiesa has scored twice for Liverpool—against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace—and has added three assists.

Meanwhile, TuttoSport via Sport Witness reports that Liverpool are targeting Juventus midfielder Kenan Yildiz, who has also attracted Arsenal interest. Juventus are said to be preparing a new contract to keep Yildiz amid Premier League attention. Liverpool could potentially use Chiesa as leverage in a swap to bring Yildiz to Anfield.

The 20-year-old Yildiz has six goals and six assists in 22 appearances across all competitions and could be viewed as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, currently away on AFCON duty with Egypt.

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Thursday against Leeds United at Anfield.
