One potential solution is a low-cost move for a player previously linked with the club: Ruben Neves. The former Wolves midfielder, currently in Saudi Arabia, is reportedly available for £20m and prefers a return to the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano clarified Neves’ situation on his YouTube channel amid transfer rumors involving Manchester United: “I want to be clear, there’s no ongoing negotiation, bid, or talks regarding Ruben Neves. Manchester United has merely been in touch with his agent, but no real negotiations have started. Discussions covered multiple players, not just Neves. He’s represented by one of football’s top agents, so inquiries are normal, but nothing concrete has changed.”

With a core of young talents approaching their peak, Liverpool adding an experienced, bargain-price operator like Neves would make perfect sense.
