Manchester City Shut Down Savinho Exit as Tottenham Shift Focus Elsewhere

Manchester City have opted to retain Savinho despite long-term interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian winger is highly valued at the Etihad, with City making it clear to Spurs that he is not for sale. With Oscar Bobb back to full fitness, Savinho now faces increased competition for a starting spot under Pep Guardiola, a challenge that could further drive his development this season.

Looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup, Savinho knows he must elevate his performances to avoid being left out of Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

A move to Spurs had appealed to the 21-year-old, largely due to Thomas Frank’s system, which would have allowed him the freedom to express himself and play to his strengths.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti reports that Tottenham have currently cooled their pursuit of Savinho, although a deal could still become possible should Manchester City soften their position and reopen negotiations.

For now, Spurs are said to be exploring alternative targets after failing to land the Brazilian.

Despite his interest in working under Frank, Savinho must now concentrate on establishing himself as a key figure at Manchester City rather than dwelling on the collapsed move.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are already tracking other attacking options, including Maghnes Akliouche. Savinho’s former PSV Eindhoven teammate, Xavi Simons, is also thought to be open to a switch to North London.
