Liverpool shift focus to 23-year-old forward after Man City secure Semenyo

Liverpool are already adjusting their transfer plans after missing out on Antoine Semenyo, who chose to join Manchester City.
CaughtOffside can exclusively report that Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is now emerging as a leading alternative for Liverpool, either in January or next summer.

The Reds’ scouting team have reportedly stepped up their monitoring of the French international, seeing him as a long-term solution capable of strengthening their attack under Arne Slot.

Slot is a known admirer of Barcola, who has become one of Ligue 1’s most dynamic wide attackers at 23 years old.
This season, Barcola has netted five league goals in 13 appearances for PSG, though his impact goes beyond scoring—he is highly valued for his pressing, ball progression, and ability to unsettle defenses in Luis Enrique’s system.

At PSG, Barcola has become a key figure under Enrique, who has relied on him in important matches and views him as central to the team’s attacking identity.
Barcola is contracted with PSG until 2028, and the club wants to secure his long-term future. However, talks over an improved contract have recently stalled, reportedly because Barcola and his representatives are taking time to fully explore their options. This pause has drawn attention from several European clubs, including Liverpool.

After missing out on Semenyo, Liverpool are eager to bring in a top-level wide attacker who can contribute immediately while fitting into a long-term plan. While a January deal could be difficult due to PSG’s reluctance to weaken mid-season, Liverpool hope that preparing now could strengthen their chances in the summer, especially if contract negotiations in Paris continue to stall.

Any move would require a substantial financial investment, but Liverpool are willing to spend on the right player rather than settling for a short-term fix. They may face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United, but the club is confident they can secure Barcola over Ruben Amorim’s side.
