Tottenham Fans Demand Frank and Failing Trio Be Moved On After Forest Loss
Thomas Frank was already facing growing scrutiny before Tottenham Hotspur’s dismal 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, and supporters have now made it clear that he is one of four figures they want out of the club.
Spurs went into the match on the back of two much-needed victories — a 2-0 league win over Brentford and a 3-0 Champions League success against Slavia Prague. However, Frank’s tenure in North London has been far from smooth, and the pressure intensified further after his side were comfortably beaten by Sean Dyche’s Forest.
Callum Hudson-Odoi struck twice in the 28th and 50th minutes, with Ibrahim Sangaré adding a late third in the 79th minute at the City Ground. The defeat marked Spurs’ sixth loss in 16 league matches. Frank was not the only target of criticism, though, as three players were heavily condemned by fans following the performance.
The frustrating display left supporters furious, with many laying the blame at the feet of Guglielmo Vicario, Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison. Vicario drew the most criticism after a costly mistake for Hudson-Odoi’s second goal, appearing helpless as a cross drifted beyond him into the far corner.
The Italian goalkeeper’s struggles have become a recurring theme this season, following a series of errors that also contributed to last month’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham. Bentancur was also singled out, with fans lamenting that the midfielder has failed to rediscover the form he showed earlier in his Spurs career.
Richarlison’s erratic displays have similarly tested supporters’ patience. Against Forest, the Brazilian offered little attacking threat, and his inconsistency has become a growing concern for a manager already under severe pressure.
Fans were vocal on social media, with many calling for all three players — and Frank himself — to be moved on. Some even joked that the quartet should be “left in Nottingham,” while others demanded a full reset at the club.
While offloading the trio would send a strong message, it appears unlikely given their roles in Frank’s squad. Nevertheless, a rebuild now feels unavoidable, despite heavy spending in the previous summer transfer window that has yet to deliver the desired results.
Vicario’s position as first-choice goalkeeper is increasingly under threat. Since returning from a fractured ankle last season, his performances have looked shaky and uncertain. Attention has turned to January signing Antonín Kinský, who impressed in limited opportunities, including a standout showing in a Carabao Cup win over Liverpool last season. However, at just 22, he may be deemed too inexperienced to shoulder the responsibility, meaning Spurs could look to the transfer market for a proven, top-level replacement.
As for Richarlison, his future also remains uncertain. Although he has scored six goals in 16 league appearances — a respectable tally — his overall contributions have fallen short. His hold-up play has been inconsistent, and he has struggled to influence matches when Spurs need leadership and intensity.
With just one year left on his contract next summer, the club may view that as the ideal moment to sell. Richarlison has previously been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and a transfer to the Middle East could provide a timely financial boost for Tottenham.
