Mo Salah might have already made his final appearance for Liverpool after a major revelation from a top Saudi official.

 

 

Mo Salah’s relationship with Liverpool has reportedly collapsed after his fiery post-match interview on Saturday following the draw with Leeds United.

 

After being benched for three straight games, Salah spoke out angrily, accusing the club of “throwing him under the bus.” He suggested that someone inside Liverpool no longer wants him at the club and even hinted that the upcoming Brighton fixture might be his final appearance, amid increasing whispers of a January departure.

 

Liverpool responded by excluding Salah from the travelling squad for their Champions League clash against Inter Milan in Italy — a move that has only fuelled speculation that the rift between player and club has reached breaking point.

 

The growing uncertainty has alerted several Saudi Pro League clubs, who have long been interested in bringing the Egyptian star to the Middle East. They view Salah as the ideal face of the league and a natural successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.

 

Reports suggest that three clubs — Al-Hilal, NEOM FC, and Al-Qadsiah — are currently monitoring his situation. Back in 2023, Al-Ittihad attempted to sign him with a massive £150 million bid, but Liverpool rejected it at the time.

 

This time, however, Liverpool seem more open to letting Salah go, despite handing him a two-year contract extension in April 2025. Some believe Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes only offered that deal to ensure Liverpool could command a huge fee if they chose to sell.

 

Saudi Pro League CEO Omar Mugharbel has publicly confirmed that Salah remains one of their prime targets, saying — via Fabrizio Romano — that Salah would be welcomed in the league, though negotiations are up to the clubs.

 

Salah himself has hinted he will “say goodbye” to the fans after Liverpool’s home match against Brighton, regardless of whether he plays. He leaves immediately after for AFCON duty, potentially keeping him away for a month.

 

Should Liverpool accept a Saudi bid during that time, Salah may never wear the Liverpool shirt again.
