Heung-min Son offers a deeply appreciative message to Tottenham fans in his emotional farewell statement.

Heung-min Son addressed Tottenham fans ahead of their 3-0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague, giving them a heartfelt – and slightly cheeky – message.

The occasion was fitting, as Son returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a European night, a stage where he previously shone. He was instrumental in Spurs’ memorable run to the 2018/19 Champions League final, scoring crucial goals against Manchester City, and later helped them secure Europa League success last season — his first trophy in a decade of loyal service to the club.

Although he featured in a final pre-season friendly before his departure, he never got the chance to properly say goodbye to the supporters. His return to North London gave him that moment. Speaking to the crowd before kick-off, he assured them he would remain a lifelong Spurs fan and jokingly encouraged them to visit him in Los Angeles.

“Good evening everyone, it’s Sonny. I hope you don’t forget me — I’m still here. It’s been an incredible ten years. Thank you. I’ll always be Spurs, this will always be home, and I’ll never forget you. Please visit LA whenever you want. I love you all. Come on you Spurs!” he said (TNT Sports).

Son chose a perfect night to come back, watching his old teammates cruise to a 3-0 win, with two new signings scoring and showing that Spurs can flourish even without him.
