Diogo Jota sparks excitement among Liverpool fans with his Christmas gift idea for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Diogo Jota has addressed teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool while revealing what he’d gift him for Christmas.

Alexander-Arnold, who made his debut for Liverpool in 2016 under then-manager Jürgen Klopp after progressing through the club’s academy, has since become the team’s first-choice right-back. Now 26, he has featured in 330 games, scoring 19 goals, and has cemented his role under current manager Arne Slot.

During his time with the club, Alexander-Arnold has secured several major trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

However, his long-term future at Anfield remains uncertain as his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025. If no extension is agreed upon, he could leave as a free agent, with persistent links to Real Madrid raising concerns among fans.

Alexander-Arnold is one of several key players in Slot’s squad nearing the end of their contracts, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, whose deals also expire in June 2025. Supporters hope all three will commit to new terms to continue their journeys at Liverpool.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Alexander-Arnold addressed his contract talks, emphasizing the privacy of negotiations:
“I’ve been at the club for 20 years and signed four or five extensions, none of which were discussed publicly—this one won’t be either.”

Jota, who has played alongside Alexander-Arnold since joining Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 for an initial £41 million, has been a standout performer with 61 goals in 157 appearances, winning the FA Cup and two League Cups.

When asked what he would buy Alexander-Arnold for Christmas, Jota responded humorously to Sky Sports:
“A pen, so he can sign his contract.”
