Liverpool Fans Point the Finger at One Player After Stunning Collapse at Leeds

Liverpool supporters have reached breaking point with one player after their side threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Leeds United.

On Saturday afternoon, the Premier League champions made the trip to Elland Road, desperate to secure three crucial points after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Sunderland earlier in the week. The pressure was mounting on Arne Slot’s team to revive what has been a disastrous season so far.

For a moment, it looked like a turnaround was finally on the cards. Liverpool controlled the game from the start, and summer arrival Hugo Ekitike put them 2-0 ahead early in the second half. But the champions once again failed to see out the match, allowing Leeds to claw their way back and force a 3-3 draw. Supporters were quick to single out one player as the main culprit.

Although multiple members of the squad have underperformed this season, no one has drawn more criticism than Ibrahima Konate. Despite entering the campaign with interest from giants such as Real Madrid and PSG, the defender has delivered a string of poor displays — and fans believe Saturday’s showing was yet another addition to that list.

Frustrated supporters took to social media to vent. One fan posted on X: “This result is on Konate. Simple as that.”

Another complained: “We were cruising until agent Konate tried using more than four brain cells. Might as well terminate his contract in the dressing room.”

A third added angrily: “We win that game if Konate doesn’t dive in and give away the penalty. That’s him in a nutshell… always has to interfere and do something stupid.”
