Sources reveal Spurs’ striker pursuit and Richarlison strategy

Tottenham are prepared to move Richarlison on in January, with club insiders suggesting the forward is no longer viewed as the solution to their attacking problems.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are planning to overhaul their frontline this winter after ongoing struggles in front of goal. Both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke could be allowed to leave as Thomas Frank looks for ways to revitalise his misfiring attack.

With Richarlison’s future uncertain, Everton are reportedly open to bringing him back if Tottenham decide to sell. The Brazilian is not considered the right fit to lead the line as a traditional No. 9, despite producing six goals and two assists in 20 matches this season.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, it was revealed that Spurs see Richarlison as more effective operating from wide areas rather than as their primary striker. Meanwhile, Randal Kolo Muani’s recent brace against PSG has sparked hope he could emerge as Tottenham’s main centre-forward if a new signing doesn’t arrive in January.

Tottenham remain in the market for a natural No. 9, especially with Solanke barely featuring this season due to injury. While Richarlison has filled in where possible, the club are still seeking a more clinical and specialised option.

As for potential replacements, a reunion with Ivan Toney now appears unlikely. Football Insider reports that the 28-year-old is settled at Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and earning wages Spurs would struggle to match. Despite his previous success under Frank at Brentford, a deal for Toney seems increasingly improbable.
