Chelsea plot two-player raid as they move ahead of Tottenham for £80m forward and £52m midfield star.

Tottenham Hotspur are admirers of a rising young striker and a highly rated teenage midfielder – but Chelsea are pushing hard for both players ahead of the January window.

In recent months, multiple reports have suggested that bringing in a new No.9 is high on Spurs’ agenda for January. That priority may now have shifted slightly with Richarlison rediscovering his scoring touch, Randal Kolo Muani back fit and performing, and Dominic Solanke nearing a return.

If Tottenham do pursue another forward, one Porto talent appears to be leading their shortlist. Spurs have been heavily linked with Samu Aghehowa, who has been in outstanding form since joining the Portuguese giants.

Chelsea planning move for Tottenham target Samu Aghehowa
Sky Sports recently revealed that Tottenham were preparing a firm bid for Aghehowa, whom Thomas Frank sees as the “perfect No.9.” But a fresh report from TEAMtalk claims Chelsea are now ready to jump in and launch their own move for the Spain international.

With Spurs showing interest, Chelsea are said to be speeding up their plans to avoid losing out on the 21-year-old. The Blues’ pursuit reportedly stretches back to the summer, and Enzo Maresca’s side are believed to be willing to table an £80m offer to Porto as they look to act decisively.

Chelsea also eye Spurs’ midfield target
TEAMtalk adds that Aghehowa isn’t the only Porto player on Chelsea’s wishlist. The club are also targeting teenage midfielder Victor Froholdt, another player Tottenham have been monitoring closely.

Chelsea scouts have frequently tracked Froholdt and have been impressed by his ability in transitional phases. This development is a blow for Spurs, who hold a strong interest in the £52m-rated youngster after considering a move for him in the summer.
