Klopp would only be viewed as a short-term fix, with Liverpool determined to avoid the chaotic post-Ferguson era that Manchester United endured. Their long-term sights are reportedly set on Luis Enrique.

Despite speculation last summer linking Xabi Alonso with the job, Enrique is said to be the favourite. The Spaniard has excelled at PSG, leading them to their first Champions League title. Charismatic and highly respected, he embodies many of the leadership traits Liverpool value and is stylistically aligned with the high-energy, team-oriented football the club embraces.

Enrique’s philosophy — pressing, fluid attacking play, and prioritising the collective — makes him an attractive option. But whether he would be willing to leave PSG, where he enjoys significant support and near-guaranteed domestic success, is another matter entirely.
