Liverpool fans rage at ‘disgraceful’ star, telling him to “leave the club” after starting in the defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool supporters blasted Ibrahima Konaté after the team’s 3-0 Premier League collapse against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The 26-year-old French defender started the match but was once again hauled off as Arne Slot threw on more attackers after falling 2-0 behind. However, Slot’s changes had no impact, with Liverpool producing almost nothing of note in another flat, lifeless performance.

Murillo, Nicola Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White struck to hand Liverpool a sixth league defeat in what has become a disastrous title defence.

Konaté, who has started all 12 league games this season, took a large portion of the criticism online. He struggled throughout, and the needless corner he conceded in the first half led directly to Murillo’s 33rd-minute opener.

Forest capitalised on Liverpool’s well-known vulnerability at set pieces, with Murillo blasting past the returning Alisson to silence a tense Anfield.

Igor Jesus had a goal chalked off for handball, but Forest made it 2-0 just 47 seconds into the second half when former Liverpool full-back Neco Williams set up Savona for a tidy finish in front of the Kop.

Gibbs-White added a third late on after Alisson initially denied Omari Hutchinson, sealing a massive victory for a Forest side that started the day in the relegation zone.

Liverpool – now 11th and battling just to stay in the top-four race – continue to push for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi ahead of January. Meanwhile, fans have also noted that Konaté has rejected three contract offers, adding further frustration after his latest underwhelming display.
