A member of Liverpool’s 2019/20 Premier League-winning squad has returned to England in search of a new club—and his latest sighting is sure to catch the attention of fans back on Merseyside.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, brought to Anfield by Jurgen Klopp in his third season in charge back in 2017/18, enjoyed a hugely successful six-year spell with the Reds, collecting Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup and both domestic cups during his time on Merseyside.
After leaving Liverpool in 2023, he spent two years with Besiktas. The Turkish side attempted to lower his salary this summer before releasing him in August, leaving the midfielder without a club since then.
Oxlade-Chamberlain spotted back in England
The former Liverpool star has now been seen back in England at one of his old clubs—but not the one where he lifted the Premier League title five years ago.
On the surface, his presence at a direct rival might seem unusual, but Oxlade-Chamberlain spent six years at Arsenal as well, matching the length of his stay at Liverpool.
A return to the Emirates still looks improbable unless it’s in a role similar to that of Jay Spearing at Liverpool—training with the youth side as an overage player while also taking up coaching responsibilities.
