Liverpool preparing for a huge £70m fight to sign Antoine Semenyo.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing for a major transfer showdown with Tottenham as both clubs eye Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo.

TEAMtalk report that the Ghanaian attacker is high on Liverpool’s shortlist, with Arne Slot viewing him as an ideal fit thanks to his adaptability across the front line. With six goals and three assists in eleven Premier League matches, Semenyo is one of the league’s standout performers this season, making his growing reputation hard to ignore.

Could Semenyo revitalise Liverpool’s front line amid Salah’s slump?
One of the big talking points of Liverpool’s campaign so far has been Mohamed Salah’s drop in form. The Egyptian star is beginning to show signs of ageing and hasn’t reached the same consistency that defined his earlier years at Anfield.

Semenyo, meanwhile, appears to be hitting his prime, and it’s no surprise Bournemouth may struggle to retain him given how seamlessly he could slot into several top sides.

Who else wants Semenyo?
While Tottenham are also credited with serious interest, CaughtOffside sources indicate that Manchester United are expected to intensify their pursuit of Semenyo in January. Despite strengthening their entire frontline in the summer with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško, United still feel they need more firepower.

Semenyo may view Liverpool as the more appealing project overall, but with Slot’s team stumbling early in the season and Ruben Amorim’s United showing real improvement, Old Trafford could also present a tempting option for the Bournemouth star.
