Liverpool poised for a massive £70m showdown in pursuit of Antoine Semenyo.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing for a major transfer showdown with Tottenham as both clubs eye Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo.

TEAMtalk claims the Ghanaian attacker has become a serious target for the Reds because his versatility suits Arne Slot’s system perfectly. With six goals and three assists in eleven Premier League matches, Semenyo is one of the league’s standout performers, making him an attractive option for Liverpool—especially as Mohamed Salah’s form has dipped this season.

Salah, now in the later stages of his career, is no longer delivering with the consistency he once did at Anfield, while Semenyo appears to be hitting his prime. This makes it increasingly unlikely that Bournemouth can keep hold of him, particularly with top clubs circling.

While Tottenham are said to be keen, CaughtOffside understands that Manchester United are actually preparing a stronger push to land Semenyo in the January window. Despite improving their attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko in the summer, United still feel they need more firepower.

Liverpool may appeal more to Semenyo as a long-term project, but with Slot’s slow start and Ruben Amorim guiding United back into form, a move to Old Trafford could also be tempting for the player.
