Vitinha Signals Interest in Liverpool Amid Reports of “Staggering” Bid

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Vitinha as a prime transfer target ahead of the January window, as the Reds look to bolster their midfield options.

It has been a remarkable year for the 25-year-old Portuguese international, who played a pivotal role in Paris Saint-Germain’s treble-winning campaign and finished third in the latest Ballon d’Or standings.

Vitinha’s technical prowess has caught the attention of Liverpool’s scouting network, who regard the former Wolves loanee as one of Europe’s most gifted midfielders. According to Caught Offside, the Reds are “keeping a close eye” on the PSG star, whose ability to dictate tempo and carry the ball aligns perfectly with Arne Slot’s tactical system.

Following a disappointing start to the 2025-26 season, adding Vitinha could bring the composure and control Liverpool’s midfield desperately needs. However, such a move would be far from straightforward. PSG are reportedly reluctant to part with the Portugal international, though a “staggering” offer in the region of €130 million (£114m) could potentially open negotiations.

Other European giants, including Arsenal and Juventus, are also monitoring Vitinha’s situation, but Liverpool are expected to pursue a deal only if one of their current midfielders departs in January.

Vitinha left a lasting impression at Anfield during PSG’s penalty shoot-out win over Liverpool in March, praising the stadium’s atmosphere and describing the Reds as “a great team.” On the night, he delivered a masterclass performance, completing 103 of 111 passes while winning six ground duels.

Even Thierry Henry was impressed by the midfielder’s impact. Speaking on TNT Sports, the former French star said:

“This guy, Vitinha, plays a different sport. When you can control the tempo and rhythm of a game, that has to count for something. People talk about players doing stepovers, winning games, but Vitinha – the way he controls the game and defends – it’s a different level.”

With Liverpool reportedly weighing their midfield options, Vitinha has emerged as a standout candidate capable of transforming the Reds’ engine room—but any pursuit would come at a monumental cost.
