Konstantinos Koulierakis is rapidly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most coveted young defenders, with several top clubs reportedly ready to challenge Wolfsburg for his signature in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old Greek centre-back has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s standout talents this season, earning widespread praise.
Since joining from PAOK Thessaloniki, Koulierakis has quickly become a key figure for Wolfsburg. His game intelligence, aerial dominance, and left-footed composure have made him an impressive presence in Germany’s top flight, drawing attention from Europe’s elite.
This season, he has featured in 11 Bundesliga matches. Among the most interested clubs are Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, according to sources familiar with the football transfer market.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot sees Koulierakis as a potential long-term successor to Ibrahima Konaté, whose future at Anfield remains uncertain amid ongoing contract discussions. The French defender is reportedly exploring a move to Bayern Munich next year. Meanwhile, Liverpool scouts have been closely monitoring Koulierakis for months, impressed by his defensive awareness and progressive passing ability.
Tottenham have also identified the Greek international as a defensive target. With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven forming their current first-choice centre-back pairing, manager Thomas Frank is keen to add depth and competition. Reports suggest Spurs are actively scouting three potential options — Jarrad Branthwaite, Eric García, and Koulierakis — as part of their long-term recruitment strategy.
In Italy, Inter Milan and Juventus are also monitoring the player. Inter are planning for the eventual departures of veteran defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, while Juventus are looking for a left-footed partner for Bremer to bolster their backline.
At present, Wolfsburg are hesitant to part with Koulierakis mid-season. However, insiders indicate that an offer in the €35–40 million range could prompt negotiations.
