Watch how Alexis Mac Allister immediately sends a message to Trent after scoring for Liverpool

Alexis Mac Allister looked to send a playful message to Trent Alexander-Arnold after scoring against Real Madrid.

The Argentine midfielder netted the only goal of the night — heading in Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick in the 61st minute at Anfield. Liverpool were up against Xabi Alonso’s side in the Champions League group stage, coming off a 5–1 victory over Frankfurt in Germany.

Mac Allister mimics Trent’s iconic celebration

Mac Allister appeared to twist the knife a little for a former Liverpool staff member when he scored on Tuesday.
Right after giving the Reds the lead, the No.10 celebrated by making a hand gesture strikingly similar to one of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s well-known celebrations from his earlier Liverpool days. The image shared on X (formerly Twitter) clearly shows the Argentine copying Trent’s trademark pose.

It was all lighthearted — nothing malicious — and undoubtedly something the Anfield crowd loved.

How did Mac Allister perform overall?
There wasn’t much to complain about in Mac Allister’s performance. He scored the deciding goal and received a solid 7.6/10 rating from Sofascore, although many would argue he deserved even higher.
