Liverpool boss Arne Slot is not under threat of losing his job at Anfield despite the team’s terrible recent form, according to trusted reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Although the Dutch manager lifted the Premier League trophy in his debut season, his second campaign has started poorly. Even so, Liverpool are continuing to support him. Romano stated on his YouTube channel that the club are not thinking about replacing Slot and have no shortlist of alternative managers.
Liverpool have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions, but Slot is still expected to be given the time needed to turn things around.
Fabrizio Romano on Slot’s future
Romano explained that nothing has changed in Liverpool’s stance — the club are completely behind their manager.
> “Liverpool still believe in Arne Slot,” he said.
Inside the club, there is confidence that Slot is the right person to fix the current problems. Despite the disappointing start, Liverpool feel the season is far from over and that there is plenty of time to recover. The owners, board members, and even the players reportedly have a strong relationship with the manager and share the belief that he can turn things around.
Romano added that the club are focused on improving results, but talk of possible replacements is not happening. At this stage, the situation is viewed as stable and under control.
> While results are obviously important, Liverpool have not triggered any alternative plans.
Slot’s Liverpool record
LFC last 3 managers Games W D L Win %
Brendan Rodgers 166 83 41 42 50.00%
Jurgen Klopp 491 299 109 83 60.90%
Arne Slot 71 46 10 15 64.79%
Slot stepped into an extremely challenging role when he replaced club icon Jürgen Klopp last summer, yet he exceeded expectations right away. Winning the league and reaching a domestic cup final in his first season has earned him patience. With a higher win percentage than Klopp, Slot will be confident that this current slump is temporary.
