Arsenal Set to Offer Gabriel Jesus in a Swap Deal for £67M-Rated Striker, Not Viktor Gyökeres or Alexander Isak
Arsenal may look to include a key player from Mikel Arteta’s squad in a swap deal for a highly-rated striker, as the Premier League title contenders aim to address their current struggles in breaking down opposition defenses.
Despite dominating their 0-0 draw against Everton in the Premier League, Arsenal failed to convert any of their chances, marking their third consecutive game without scoring from open play. The Gunners were expected to secure a comfortable win against struggling Everton at the Emirates, but despite controlling the match, they couldn’t find the back of the net.
Arteta expressed his frustration after the game:
“I feel very disappointed not to win because we were clearly the better team,” he said. “We gave nothing away, dominated possession, and generated chances, but lacked the final touch in the last 20 meters.”
In an effort to break the deadlock, Arteta introduced Gabriel Jesus for the final 20 minutes, but the Brazilian striker failed to make an impact, leaving him with just one goal in all competitions this season.
Arsenal are reportedly seeking a new center-forward to relieve pressure on Kai Havertz, with Jesus not meeting the expected goal-scoring output. One potential target is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been consistently linked with a move to North London.
According to Italian outlet Spazio J, Arsenal is exploring the possibility of offering Jesus in exchange for Vlahovic, with the Brazilian heading to Juventus and the Serbian striker making the move to Arsenal. Juventus are said to be in need of a “big-name” replacement for Vlahovic, and Jesus could fit the bill. Arsenal are described as one of the most serious and proactive clubs in the race for the 24-year-old, who is valued at around £67 million. Vlahovic has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances this season.
