Arne Slot’s scheduled pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League encounter with Frankfurt has been called off.
The Liverpool boss was due to address the media following Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield – the Reds’ fourth straight loss in all competitions. However, the team’s departure for Germany was delayed due to what the club described on X as a “technical issue with the aircraft” that was set to carry the squad.
Slot had been expected to appear alongside a player once the team arrived in Germany, but those plans have now been scrapped.
The Dutchman might not be too disappointed to avoid further questions about Liverpool’s recent struggles, giving him extra time to concentrate on preparing his side to bounce back.
Liverpool began their Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid at Anfield but suffered defeat away to Galatasaray on matchday two.
Attention will now turn to what lineup Slot selects for the clash with Frankfurt, who have won three of their opening seven Bundesliga matches.
