Arne Slot was clearly not happy with the referee enforcing the rules well enough in Liverpool’s draw with Fulham on Saturday.
Late in the game Bernd Leno pounced on the ball and held on to it for much longer than stipulated six seconds.
Slot pointed out to the referee precisely how long the goalkeeper had been holding the ball, counting the seconds on his fingers.
Fans echoed the sentiment that referees should enforce the six-second rule more effectively.
Dizz commented: “Honestly, football has a long way to go when it comes to respecting its own rules. Imagine if the shot clock in basketball was based on intuition instead of an actual timer. That’s essentially where we are right now.”
