Arne Slot reveals significant Liverpool injury setback before Manchester United showdown

During his pre-match press conference at the AXA Training Centre, Arne Slot provided updates on three key players — Ryan Gravenberch, Ibou Konaté, and Alisson — ahead of the 4:30 pm kick-off.

 

“Ryan is fully fit, though we still have two training sessions to go. But if you ask me now, he’s completely ready,” the 47-year-old confirmed.

 

“Ibou has returned to training and is expected to join the group today. The third one is Alisson — he’s not training with us, so he’s unavailable.”

 

This update brings positive news for both midfield and defence but a major blow in goal.

 

Slot further revealed that Alisson will miss not only this weekend’s game but also next week’s fixture.

 

“He won’t play this weekend or next week,” the Dutch manager added.

 

With Alisson ruled out, Giorgi Mamardashvili will continue as the starting goalkeeper. The Georgian, who joined from Valencia this summer, has impressed in his limited appearances so far.

 

Gravenberch’s return is a timely boost, especially after doubts about his fitness following an early substitution during international duty.

 

Konaté’s recovery also bolsters the defence, which will be tested against Manchester United’s attacking threats. His speed and aerial presence could prove crucial despite his recent dip in form.
