“Race intensifies” – Journalist shares interesting update as Manchester United pursue Liverpool transfer target
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly the leading contenders to sign Antoine Semenyo in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, who shared an update on X, the race for the Bournemouth forward is “heating up,” with both Man United and Spurs closely monitoring his situation. Although Liverpool have also been linked with the in-form Ghanaian attacker, Konur suggests the two Premier League giants are currently at the forefront of the chase.
Semenyo has been in outstanding form for Bournemouth this season, which has naturally drawn attention from top clubs. Konur posted: “Antoine Semenyo continues to impress at Bournemouth. Tottenham and Manchester United are keeping a close eye. Interest is already heating up ahead of the January window.”
Meanwhile, journalist Indy Kaila has claimed that Liverpool are leading the race for the 25-year-old. He reported that the Reds are in direct contact with Bournemouth sporting director Richard Hughes, noting that a potential deal could be worth £90–100 million in January or around £70 million next summer.
Semenyo’s performances have been among the best in the Premier League this season. With six goals and three assists, he ranks just behind Erling Haaland in total goal contributions (G/A).
Player Total G/A in Premier League 2025
Erling Haaland 10
Antoine Semenyo 9
Jack Grealish 5
Mohammed Kudus 5
Joao Pedro 5
Jaidon Anthony 5
Given his current form, Semenyo appears destined for a move to a bigger club — and while Bournemouth will struggle to keep hold of him, a transfer to a top-level team seems only a matter of time.
