Player on Liverpool’s radar tells his club he plans to move on.

Liverpool are reportedly facing competition in their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to Christian Falk in his CF Bayern Insider column.

The England international has been one of Palace’s standout performers and is now attracting serious interest from several top clubs. Falk claims that Guehi has already informed Palace of his desire to leave, with his contract at Selhurst Park entering its final stages.

Alongside Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation closely. Falk explained:

“Marc Guehi is a very interesting player for Bayern Munich. The main issue for Bayern is whether Guehi will still be available by the time they reach a decision on Upamecano’s future. Talks are ongoing, and Bayern want him. But Liverpool were very advanced in negotiations during the summer, and I’ve heard Real Madrid is another appealing option for Guehi – possibly his preferred destination.”

He continued:

“It’s clear Guehi has already told Palace he intends to leave in the summer. Tottenham are interested, while Chelsea, despite being his former club, aren’t heavily involved right now.”

Liverpool came close to securing Guehi’s signature in the summer and remain keen on strengthening their defence. With Virgil van Dijk nearing the twilight of his career and Ibrahima Konate’s future uncertain, signing a younger, top-quality centre-back like Guehi remains a major priority for

the Reds.
