Florian Wirtz sends clear message as teammate left surprised by Liverpool claims

Germany’s Serge Gnabry appeared surprised this week when told that Florian Wirtz was reportedly struggling to settle at Liverpool.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Die Mannschaft’s World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on Friday night, the Bayern Munich winger addressed questions about Wirtz’s adaptation to life on Merseyside.

“We all try to support each other as teammates, especially those going through a tough time,” Gnabry said.

“But I don’t get the feeling that Flo isn’t doing well. He’s always laughing, training hard, and in good spirits.

“No one doubts his talent — and he shouldn’t either. It was a big move, so he just needs a bit of time. He’s got immense ability, and I’m confident he’ll make it.”

“That’s a lot to handle for a young player. He’s joined a team full of superstars and has to earn his place step by step — but he will. He’s a

fighter.”
