“The situation has now changed…” – Journalist delivers concerning update on Liverpool target’s transfer position

Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi was close to joining Liverpool in the summer, but the transfer collapsed after Palace failed to secure a suitable replacement. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the 25-year-old is now tipped to leave in January, as the club seeks to avoid losing him for free.

The England international has attracted attention from several top European sides, including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

As reported by Dean Jones via TEAMtalk, Guehi’s stance has shifted — he no longer prioritises a move to Liverpool and is now open to offers from any major club.

> “The situation has changed,” Jones said. “He’s approaching his next move with a fresh mindset. While he was disappointed when the Liverpool deal fell through, he’s level-headed and knows other big opportunities lie ahead. Bayern’s interest could be something that genuinely appeals to him.”

Liverpool, still short on defensive options following Giovanni Leoni’s season-ending injury, are expected to revisit their interest. The Reds could provide Guehi with the chance to compete for top honours, but with several elite clubs circling, his next destination remains uncertain.
