Liverpool now face a familiar dilemma: either risk losing Konaté for free or meet his demands, which could challenge their wage structure, to retain a defender who has become vital under manager Arne Slot. The club is keen to avoid a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation, where he departed for Real Madrid after his contract expired.
