Insider responds to Real Madrid’s pursuit of another Liverpool player

In June, Liverpool parted ways with Trent Alexander-Arnold, and since then, several players from Arne Slot’s squad have been rumored to follow him. Ibrahima Konate is becoming an increasingly probable candidate to transfer in 2026, and he might not be alone. This summer saw a major reshuffle at Anfield, with new signings like Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Jeremie Frimpong joining, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz left. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk extended their contracts, choosing to stay.

Regarding the speculation about Mohamed Salah and Real Madrid, there are still chances Salah could leave next summer, especially since Liverpool have shown strong interest in Bayern Munich’s winger Michael Olise. According to Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke commented on the rumors linking Salah with Real Madrid but doesn’t expect him to follow Trent’s path.

O’Rourke said, “Real Madrid are linked with so many players these days. I’d be surprised if they make a move for Salah now — at this point in his career, that opportunity might have passed. Just look at Salah’s achievements. If he completes these next two years at Liverpool and then moves on, he’ll likely have many options. Ultimately, it will be his decision, not anyone else’s.”

Whether Salah leaves Liverpool in 2026 will likely depend on his performance this season. If he does depart, a move to Saudi Arabia seems more probable than to Real Madrid, although the Spanish club is known for pursuing players who present good market value.
