Report: Liverpool can now acquire an “exceptional” target in January at a 30% reduced price.

Liverpool aimed to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through.

Although Liverpool had agreed on a £35 million fee with the London club and Guehi had even undergone a medical with the Premier League champions, Crystal Palace couldn’t find a suitable replacement for the defender and ultimately pulled out of the deal at the last moment.

Can Liverpool secure Marc Guehi in January?
Liverpool are expected to pursue the defender again in the future. It will be interesting to see if they manage to sign him during the January transfer window. According to Football Insider, Guehi could now be available for just £25 million—a 30% discount compared to the summer price Liverpool was prepared to pay.

Guehi is considered one of the best defenders in the league and would be an excellent addition at that price, making this potential transfer a great bargain. Liverpool have enough squad depth to wait until January, and signing the Crystal Palace star mid-season would be smart business.

Guehi wants the move
Currently in the final year of his contract with Crystal Palace, Guehi has decided not to extend his deal. He wants to join a bigger club, with Liverpool being his preferred destination. Whether Liverpool can complete the transfer for a reduced fee in January remains to be seen.

Alternatively, they could sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season. It will be intriguing to watch how Liverpool approach this situation. As Premier League champions, they need more quality and depth, and bringing in Guehi in January could be a smart move.
