Paul Joyce of The Times reports that Aston Villa are closely monitoring Harvey Elliott’s situation at Liverpool, as the young England U21 international could see his role diminished even further with Alexander Isak reportedly set to join the Reds. Liverpool’s recent investments in creative and attacking talent have already limited Elliott’s game time, and Isak’s expected arrival from Newcastle is likely to increase competition for places even more.
Elliott, despite his adaptability across multiple positions, is already struggling for minutes at Anfield. The anticipated arrival of Isak is only expected to deepen that challenge, raising concerns over how much he’ll feature this season.
Villa, under manager Unai Emery, are watching developments with interest. Emery is known to appreciate Elliott’s flexibility on the pitch.
