Tsimikas Set for Roma Loan After Falling Out of Favour at Liverpool
Liverpool have reportedly allowed Kostas Tsimikas to undergo a medical with AS Roma ahead of a season-long loan deal.
The Greek left-back has slipped down the pecking order under new manager Arne Slot and hasn’t featured in the matchday squad for any of the first three games this season. According to The Athletic, Tsimikas is now expected to complete a loan move to Roma, with no option for a permanent transfer included.
Although Liverpool initially hoped to sell the 29-year-old, they’ll now look to use this loan spell to generate future interest ahead of a potential sale next summer.
Liverpool Reshaping Squad Under Slot
It’s been a summer of significant change at Anfield. Arne Slot’s side looks very different from the one that won the Premier League, with several high-profile departures including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Caoimhin Kelleher.
In their place, Liverpool have brought in a number of fresh faces, such as Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. With Robertson and Kerkez ahead of him in the pecking order, Tsimikas was unlikely to see much game time this season, making a loan the most viable option.

Liverpool’s transfer activity may not be over yet. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi remains a priority target for the final days of the window.
Additionally, reports from CaughtOffside suggest that the Reds are pushing to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle. Meanwhile, midfielder Harvey Elliott could be heading to RB Leipzig, according to Christian Falk.
