Stefan Bajcetic is expected to remain at Liverpool for the 2025/26 season.
The Spanish midfielder won’t be going out on loan like Tyler Morton and James McConnell.
This decision comes despite Bajcetic’s successful loan spell at Las Palmas during the 2024/25 season, where he made 14 appearances.
Paul Joyce confirms that Bajcetic will continue his development under Liverpool’s coaching staff.
Trusted Times journalist Paul Joyce recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the plan is for Bajcetic to stay at Liverpool and keep learning from Arne Slot and the club’s coaches.
An added advantage of this move is that Bajcetic will count towards Liverpool’s homegrown player quota for the upcoming Champions League campaign.
The 20-year-old has made 22 senior appearances for Liverpool so far, scoring once in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in 2022.
Liverpool will benefit from extra cover for Ryan Gravenberch.
While Wataru Endo is already an option to cover the defensive midfield role, and Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai can fill in if needed, the team feels more secure having a natural holding midfielder like Bajcetic available.
The key question remains whether Bajcetic can break into the first team, especially given he missed much of the preseason after undergoing surgery to fix an injury from late in the 2024/25 season.
