Liverpool fans have been buzzing about Federico Chiesa’s unexpected reaction following Rio Ngumoha’s dramatic late goal against Newcastle United.

As Ngumoha sprinted off to celebrate his first Premier League goal, Chiesa, overcome with excitement, initially ran in the completely wrong direction before quickly correcting himself and heading back to join the celebration. The 27-year-old winger, who had previously netted the winner against Bournemouth on opening day, then embraced Mohamed Salah, who assisted the goal.

At the end of the day, I probably do that finish 100 times in training, so it’s no different with the fans there. But obviously, having their support in that moment—it’s just crazy.”
