Fabrizio Romano delivers major update on Alexander Isak’s potential move to Liverpool before Newcastle clash.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared new details about the ongoing speculation linking Alexander Isak with a potential move to Liverpool, ahead of Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with the Reds.

Liverpool are set to face Newcastle at St James’ Park on Monday night in what could be one of the season’s standout fixtures. The spotlight is firmly on Newcastle’s star striker Isak, with transfer rumors swirling and the atmosphere expected to be particularly intense.

With only a week remaining in the transfer window, Monday’s game could play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of any potential deal for Isak.

Romano has now weighed in on the situation, providing a significant update on his YouTube channel.

According to reports, Newcastle are only willing to consider selling Isak if they secure two forward signings this week—one to replace him and another to fill the gap left by Callum Wilson’s departure earlier this summer.

Despite having their initial £110 million bid turned down, Liverpool are preparing a second, record-breaking offer. Romano explained that the transfer saga remains very much alive.

“This coming week will be crucial,” said Romano. “We’ll have more clarity after Monday’s match. Newcastle are hoping Isak returns to training post-game, and they want to persuade him to stay.

“But Liverpool are pushing hard. They want him, they’re ready to pay for him, and Isak is keen on the move. It all hinges on Newcastle’s stance—they have control over this.”

If Liverpool want to land the Swedish striker, they’ll likely need to increase their offer to at least £130 million, surpassing the British record set by Florian Wirtz’s £116 million move to Liverpool earlier this summer.
