Newcastle remain interested in the Senegalese forward, competing with Aston Villa for his signature.
Romano confirms Jackson is “guaranteed” to depart Stamford Bridge this window.
Bayern Munich have also shown interest, but their recent loan commitments limit their options.
Chelsea want a transfer fee for a permanent deal, making it a two-way race mainly between Villa and Newcastle for the 24-year-old.
Romano commented on X (formerly Twitter):
“There are many movements ongoing for the future of Nicolas Jackson, one to watch in the next hours and days. He’s leaving Chelsea. Aston Villa, where Unai Emery coached him at Villarreal, are eager to complete the deal. But more clubs are involved—Newcastle and Bayern are both very interested.”

This could be positive news for Liverpool and manager Arne Slot.
The club continues to pursue Alexander Isak as their top target.
If Newcastle manages to secure Jackson—likely given their ability to offer Champions League football—it could clear the path for Isak’s potential move to Anfield.
However, it’s uncertain if this will happen, especially since Newcastle are currently unwilling to meet Brentford’s valuation for Yoane Wissa.
How much will Jackson cost Newcastle?
The Daily Mail reports Chelsea may seek up to £60 million for Jackson.
With Brentford demanding a similar fee for Wissa, this could pose a challenge for Newcastle.
But if Newcastle expect Liverpool to meet a hefty £150 million valuation for Isak, they might be willing to match similar demands for their incoming players.
