Liverpool have quietly agreed to finalize another signing, with the player already seen at their training ground.
Under Arne Slot, the team has brought in six new players this summer, including the club-record signing of attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
His Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong, Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, and Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike have also joined the squad at Anfield.
Meanwhile, the club has been working behind the scenes to strengthen their academy, securing highly-rated 17-year-old striker Will Wright from League Two’s Salford City.
Liverpool had to fend off competition from Arsenal to land Wright, who has since debuted for the club’s under-21 team.
According to Anfield Watch, another academy signing has now been completed, one that is expected to excite fans.
Liverpool have agreed to sign young winger Sidy Barhama Ndiaye from Senegal’s Diambars FC.
Ndiaye has already spent time at the Reds’ training ground and appeared in a friendly match.
However, fans will have to wait some time before Ndiaye is considered for the first team.
The 15-year-old will only turn 18 in December 2027, meaning he can officially join Liverpool in January 2028.
That said, Anfield Watch notes that FIFA rules allow him to spend up to eight weeks each calendar year with Liverpool to help him adjust to English football and life.
Who is Sidy Barhama Ndiaye?
Ndiaye currently plays for Diambars FC’s youth team and gained recognition at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
He is also set to represent Senegal at the U17 World Cup later this year, where they have been drawn against Croatia, Costa Rica, and the United Arab Emirates in Group A.
Scouting site TotalScouting describes Ndiaye as “the fastest U17 player I have ever seen,” but questions whether he will have the technical skills to become a regular in Europe’s top five leagues.
He has already drawn comparisons to former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, as both players come from Senegal.
Notably, Diambars FC has produced several players who have gone on to play regularly in Europe’s top leagues, including Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, former Barcelona B defender Mikayil Faye, ex-Crystal Palace player Pape Souare, Lorient winger Cheick Dieng, and former Stoke midfielder Badou Ndiaye.
